The schedule was agreed upon during the ICC board meeting held in Ahmedabad in May, with ESPNcricinfo reporting that the finer points of the arrangement are due to be rubber-stamped at the ICC's Annual General Meeting in Edinburgh this July.
Of the 54 matches scheduled across the tournament, South Africa is expected to host about 41 of them. Zimbabwe is in line to hold between eight and ten games, while Namibia will take care of the remaining three.
In Zimbabwe, Victoria Falls has been added as a third venue alongside the traditional grounds at Harare Sports Club and Queens in Bulawayo.
The new Fale Mosi-oa-Tunya International Cricket Stadium in Victoria Falls is on course to be finished later this year, with domestic cricket planned before an official opening ceremony next May.
The tournament will expand back to 14 teams after the previous two editions were contested by ten sides. Teams will be divided into two groups of seven, with the top three from each group progressing to a Super Six phase.
