Dan Quinn was not taking the bait. When the Washington head coach spoke to the media ahead of Tuesday's OTA, Quinn was asked about San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk posting an image wearing a Commanders' hat and holding a football.
"Yeah, not for my understanding, or do I have a comment about that," Quinn responded. "You had to take a shot, I understand. Yeah, very fair [question]."

He's right. It was a fair question and one that should've been asked. And Quinn also gave the only answer he could give. Aiyuk, after all, remains under contract with another team. There is absolutely no other way he could respond.

The 49ers and Aiyuk remain at odds. It gets uglier by the day, with Aiyuk posting multiple videos and images on his Instagram account, taking aim at his current team. However, he remains under contract. And while the 49ers have already said he's played his last down for them, they still hold his rights. If Aiyuk shows up for training camp, then things could get interesting. He could force San Francisco to release him, which would allow him to hit free agency.
Until then, don't expect the Commanders, including Aiyuk's close friend Jayden Daniels, to say anything about him.
