The Gunners wrapped up a brilliant campaign last weekend, ending a wait that stretched back to the iconic 2003/04 season under Arsène Wenger.
Fittingly, Wenger was also the last Arsenal boss to win the award, having previously claimed it in 1997/98, 2001/02 and during the unbeaten Invincibles season.
Arteta saw off competition from Keith Andrews (Brentford), Michael Carrick (Manchester United), Andoni Iraola (Bournemouth), Régis Le Bris (Sunderland) and Pep Guardiola (Manchester City).
Since arriving in north London in 2019 after serving as Guardiola’s assistant at City, Arteta has completely transformed Arsenal’s fortunes. And there could still be another huge moment to come, with the club now preparing for the UEFA Champions League Final against Paris Saint-Germain on 30 May.
