The Boston Red Sox are in the middle of a brutal stretch in the first half of June. Any momentum that was created when the Red Sox secured their second home series win of the season against the Texas Rangers was quickly annihilated when the Toronto Blue Jays finished off the sweep of the Red Sox at Fenway Park on Thursday afternoon.

Boston is now 4-10 in the month of June. They have lost four games in a row and eight of the last 10.

Utility man Isiah Kiner-Falefa has surprisingly become one of the most vocal leaders in the locker room after being signed by the Red Sox this offseason. His .277 batting average is the third highest on the team.

Kiner-Falefa kept things very earnest in the locker room following the team's deflating loss to the Blue Jays.

"We got swept at home," Kiner-Falefa said. "Swept at home in division. It doesn’t get worse than that. It’s time to go on a streak, or we’re going to be having new players in this locker room. We’ve just got to figure it out."

The Blue Jays sweep was a lot worse than just three losses.

Dylan Cease earned the win in Game 1 as he held the Red Sox offense scoreless through five innings. The Red Sox were only able to plate one run on the day.

The next day, the Blue Jays starter Max Scherzer was forced onto the injured list just hours before first pitch. Toronto was forced to roll out a full-blown bullpen day with relief pitchers throwing all nine innings.

With their backs against the wall, the Blue Jays bullpen shut out the Red Sox all nine innings at Fenway Park.

In Game 3, the Red Sox carried a 3-3 tie into the ninth inning, and closer Aroldis Chapman gave up his first earned run in 75 days, leading to another Boston loss.
