As Iowa women's basketball begins its summer work, one of the newest members of the Hawkeyes' program, point guard Dani Carnegie, earned the tremendous honor of being named to the 2026 United States 3x3 Women’s Nations League Team.

Carnegie transferred to Iowa this summer after playing her first two seasons at Georgia Tech (2024-25) and Georgia (2025-26). Carnegie was a unanimous first-team All-SEC selection last season with Georgia, averaging 17.8 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 3.2 assists per game on 42.7% shooting. Carnegie was also named the ACC Sixth Player of the Year in 2024-25 with the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets and was an All-ACC Freshman Team choice.
Carnegie and Team USA will compete in the 2026 FIBA 3x3 Nations League Americas Conference June 27-July 3 in Ñuñoa, Chile. Carnegie joins five other NCAA Division I athletes, including Sunaja ‘Nunu’ Agara, Imari Berry, McKinna Brackens, Katie Fiso and Tori McKinney.

Last month, Carnegie participated in a USA Basketball 3x3 Developmental Camp in Phoenix and the subsequent USA Basketball 3X Showcase in Mesa, Ariz. Carnegie, Fiso and McKinney took home the 3X Showcase title—competing as Team Phoenix—after defeating Team Tempe 21-17 in the final.
The 2026 FIBA 3x3 Nations League Americas Conference North will feature six three-game tournaments over seven days. The competition will run in a "stops" format, with multiple stops held throughout the weeklong event. Teams will accumulate points based on their performance at each stop. Team members can substitute as needed for each day’s four-person entry.
The FIBA 3x3 Nations League will be a qualification route to the 2026 FIBA 3x3 U23 World Cup. Conference winners will qualify for the event, set for Sept. 15-19 in Wuhan, China.
3x3 basketball is played on a half-court with a 12-second shot clock. The first team to 21 points, or the team in the lead at the end of regulation, is the winner.
