The ESPN analyst offended the fans of 'Blank Space' singer after she was caught questioning Swift's loyalty to the Knicks in Game 4 of the NBA Finals at Madison Square Garden. Ever since, the Swifties have been up on McNutt, trolling the analyst for questioning Swift's Knicks fandom as the star singer arrived there wearing a Knicks outfit.

After the game, before McNutt could conduct her interview with Brunson, the Knicks guard made a great gesture. He took the camera from her hand and addressed the Swifties:

"I just want to say something to Swifties. She's really a good one. Cut her some slack. It's all good I promise."

As Brunson was saying this, even McNutt started hiding her face for a second and acknowledged the gesture. For the moment, anything Brunson requests is a must-do, at least for Taylor Swift's fans in New York. McNutt might have been saved from a lot of wrath that was otherwise going to haunt her for many, many days.

Jalen Brunson wins NBA Finals MVP

There were several contenders to win the 2026 NBA Finals MVP, including Knicks forward Karl-Anthony Towns, who delivered double-double performances in the first two games of the series, or OG Anunoby, whose successful tip-in in Game 4 kept the Spurs from equalizing the series.

However, there was one consistent and resilient man for the Knicks and his name was Jalen Brunson.

The point guard has scripted a book-worthy story and his NBA Finals Game 5 performance was telling what he has done for the Knicks over the last two years. The point guard was always among the scorers, especially in late-quarter stretches. Major thanks to him for the Knicks' several comeback wins in this series despite being down double digits.

In Game 5, he scored 45 points and averaged 32.6 points per game in the Finals. He finished ahead of Anunoby and the Spurs' Victor Wembanyama in the NBA Finals MVP race.
