Chase Sexton will miss Round 3 of the Pro Motocross season, Round 20 of the SuperMotocross League, after a scary crash at Thunder Valley Motocross Park, according to the Monster Energy Kawasaki team.

In a video posted on the Pro Motocross Instagram page, the nose of Sexton's bike dips as he jumps one of the massive obstacles at Thunder Valley. Sexton was able to stand and limp to the side of the track.

In an Instagram story, archived by Pro Motocross and SuperMotocross, Sexton said: "Well, not a great day. Knee feels cooked but will get it checked out when I get home. Incident was out of my control and feeling like a passenger was very scary. I'm just very lucky to be somewhat okay and the man up above was looking over me. Thanks for the messages and everyone checking in, it means a lot."

After a disappointing round last week in the Hangtown Motocross Classic, in which he finished 11th in the first moto and seventh overall, Sexton was less than enthusiastic about his performance so far in the 2026 outdoor season.

"It’s been a tough year not being able to ride anywhere near my potential, but with that being said I’m not giving up and in the end it’s going to make the wins that much better," Sexton posted. "I really do appreciate and am grateful the people in my corner and all the fans having my back through a trying year. See y’all at Thunder Valley."

Sexton recovered from the sub-10th-place finish in Moto 1 to finish fourth in Moto 2.
