The Cleveland Browns, throughout the course of the 2026 offseason, have done an incredible job of revamping the offense for newly-hired head coach Todd Monken.

One of the top priorities for the struggling organization this offseason was attacking the wide receiver position, which general manager Andrew Berry did an excellent job of addressing in the 2026 NFL Draft with KC Concepcion and Denzel Boston. Both rookies are set to have massive roles on offense this season, and their efforts through minicamp have not gone unnoticed by the coaching staff.
When asked about the rookie pass-catching duo on Thursday morning, Browns’ wide receivers coach Christian Jones gave high praise to the newest additions on offense.
“I think the rookies have done a job,” Jones stated. “It’s really about understanding the concepts, understanding the plays, and really, it’s learning the playbook. After that, [the rookies] are able to play fast. Once you get them to understand the plays and how to do things the right way, it’s their time to shine. KC came in with the right mindset; he was ready to work on what he thought was an issue coming in from the draft, which was his drops. Denzel wanted to show everyone what he could do; he was really upset about [where he landed in the draft], but they’ve come out and done a really good job, I’m proud of them.”

After selecting the team’s future left tackle in the first round of the recent NFL Draft, Berry set out on his quest to improve the wide receiver room by selecting Concepcion in round one. The explosive playmaker out of Texas A&M has proven to win at all three levels of the field with his speed and route-running savvy, leading people to compare him to one of Monken’s former wideouts, Zay Flowers.
Really enjoy watching KC Concepcion work on his craft. Incredibly twitchy, incredibly sudden, and he gets in and out of breaks so effortlessly. His ability after the catch is obviously his biggest strength, but what stands out is how naturally he tracks and catches the football.… pic.twitter.com/WC1vVzxnSV

In addition to his excitement towards the rookie receivers, Jones also discussed how well Boston has done this offseason, stating that he’s “not afraid” to go after any ball thrown to him.
“[Denzel] has done a really good job,” Jones claimed. “He had one day, he came out and was a little off, but he’s done a really good job with catching the ball, finishing, and really just seeing it in to the tuck. But, you talk about where [the quarterbacks] put the ball, where he goes for it, he’s not afraid to go get it.”
Boston, on the other hand, was the Browns’ first selection on the second day of the 2026 NFL Draft. Despite being a dominant contested-catch receiver throughout his time with the Washington Huskies, he still managed to fall into Cleveland’s lap in round two. At 6-foot-4, 212 lbs., Boston possesses an excellent frame and style of play to become the team’s true “X” receiver, which is something the Browns’ offense has lacked in previous years.

While it remains unclear as to who will be the starting quarterback in Week One, fans should be excited to see the organization’s newest weapons on offense, along with second-year tight end Harold Fannin Jr., in 2026 and beyond.
