Charlotte Hornets 2025-26 player grades: Tre Mann

After showcasing impressive scoring off the bench in 14 games for Charlotte during the 2024-25 season, the Hornets inked Tre Mann to a 3-year $24 million extension. Early on during the 2025-26 season, Mann had an opportunity to lead the second unit, and unfortunately for him and Charlotte, it couldn't have gone any worse.

Mann struggled mightily in nearly every area, and on the season finished with averages of 5.5 points, 1.7 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 0.5 steals in 12.6 minutes per game. His shooting inefficiency was apparent right away, shooting a career-worst 36% from the field and 32.3% from 3-point range, the second lowest mark of his career. For these reasons and his lack of size defensively, Mann played his way out of the rotation completely, being relegated to just garbage time minutes from late December onward. Considering that the Hornets are keen on retaining backup point guard Coby White, Charlotte may attempt to dump Mann's contract this summer via trade. The former Florida Gator has two years and $16 million remaining on his deal, but the final year is a club option.
