After helping the Charlotte Hornets win a Summer League title, former Clemson center PJ Hall signed with the Memphis Grizzlies on a two-way deal. After his release, the Greensboro Swarm were able to bring him on, and after a dominant run in the G-League, the Hornets signed Hall to a two-way contract. Due to injuries concerning Mason Plumlee and Ryan Kalkbrenner, Hall acted as Charlotte's backup center for a stretch during the season and played quite well.
Hall appeared in 12 games for the Hornets during the 2025-26 season, although it feels like more. In those games he averaged 6.1 points, 5.5 rebounds, 0.7 assists, 0.3 steals and 0.7 blocks in 15.6 minutes of play. Hall's shooting percentages were solid, including a career-high 80.8% from the free-throw line. The only area of concern for the former Denver Nugget may be turnovers, averaging 1.3 per game for Charlotte. Unfortunately for Hall, he suffered an ankle fracture in late March, ending his season prematurely. All in all, considering Hall had never played meaningful minutes in an NBA rotation before, this season was a massive success. Luckily for Charlotte, Hall signed a two-year, two-way deal, meaning he'll be available in the same capacity for the Hornets next season as well.
