LSU baseball infielder enters transfer portal after one year with Tigers

· Yahoo Sports

LSU baseball infielder Trent Caraway is entering the transfer portal again, according to a report from On3's Pete Nakos. Caraway spent one year at LSU after transferring from Oregon State last year. Caraway's decision is no surprise, as a handful of Tigers are expected to enter the portal after a letdown season in 2026.

Caraway played in 30 games for LSU, starting 24. He posted a .243 batting average and .713 OPS. He hit two homers and drove in 16 runs.

Caraway was a starter for LSU early in the year, but faded to a rotation piece in conference play and was in and out of the lineup.

Caraway was one of several offensive transfers LSU signed in 2025 as Jay Johnson hoped to replace a bevy of production from the 2025 lineup. Caraway, like most of LSU's newcomers, struggled to find consistency.

Caraway is a veteran with major college baseball experience at two powerhouse programs. He will land on his feet somewhere. The transfer portal officially opened on Monday and will remain open for the entire month of June.
