The Burundian tactician ended his spell at Amakhosi at the conclusion of the season, leaving alongside the rest of the technical team.
CEDRIC KAZE TO FACE KAIZER CHIEFS NEXT SEASON?
Amakhosi finished third in the standings, securing a CAF Confederation Cup spot in what was generally viewed as a more stable campaign compared to previous seasons.
Kaze originally arrived at Kaizer Chiefs as part of Nasreddine Nabi’s technical team before stepping into a co-coaching role alongside Khalil Ben Youssef after Nabi’s exit.
His time at the club saw him operate in different responsibilities as the technical structure shifted through the season.
Now, just after that exit, Kaze has revealed that he is not short of interest, with discussions already underway with a PSL side that ended inside the top half of the table.
“LET’S SAY IT’S A TEAM IN THE TOP TEN”
Kaze has made it clear that a return to South African football is very much on the table, especially given his understanding of the league and its structure.
“Yes [I would accept the job in the PSL],” he answered during the interview with Robert Marawa on MSW.
“There are some talks that are happening. If it goes well, I’d gladly take it because I believe I know the platform – the league, the players and the format of the league.
“I’m pretty sure that I can be helpful.”
He was, however, careful not to reveal too much when pressed on which club is showing interest. He only confirming the general position of the team in the standings.
When he was asked whether it was a club that finished the season in the top eight, he kept his cards close to his chest somewhat. “Let’s say it’s a team in the top ten,” he added.
That opened speculation around possible destination. But Kaze refused to be drawn into naming names, even when Sekhukhune United were mentioned.
“Let’s say it’s a team in the top ten,” he repeated. The conversation became even more direct when “Babina Noko” was brought up, but Kaze remained cautious.
However, when pushed further on whether it could be Sekhukhune United specifically, he gave a small indication of familiarity with the club without confirming anything.
