It sounds about as simple and obvious as possible, but it's true.
This is the team that won Game 7 of the first round against the Tampa Bay Lightning with just nine shots on goal.
There lack of shots over a large portion of Monday night's Game 3 with the Carolina Hurricanes didn't work out as well, with the Habs losing in overtime.
Zero shots in nearly 25 minutes isn’t a recipe for success for the Canadiens. Gotta cook something new up in the game plan for game four. https://t.co/hy9qCKcJIM

The Canadiens need to find a way to embrace that famous quote from Wayne Gretzky:
"You miss 100 percent of the shots you don't take."
Yes, one team can dominate another, and that can lead to a disparity in the shot totals.
But if the Habs know that might happen, they need to start shooting when the opportunities present themselves.
Goalies make mistakes. Rebounds happen. Hockey is a funny game played on ice with players on skates and the puck flat on two sides but rounded on its edges. The sticks are curved. Anything can happen.
Put pucks on the net and force the issue.
The Canadiens are, by most expectations, less talented than the Hurricanes. That means they have to play better hockey.
And sometimes that simply means shooting the puck.
