The Gators defeated the Vanderbilt Commodores, 8-3, in the second round of the tournament and run-ruled the Alabama Crimson Tide to advance to the quarterfinals. Florida held a 6-0 lead over the Georgia Bulldogs, but watched it slip away as a rain delay drove the nail further into the coffin.
Throughout that three-game run, Cyr was one of the best hitters among all teams, going 9-for-13 at the plate with a .692/.714/1.462 slash line. Cyr had 19 total bases, including two homers, one triple, two doubles, six runs and one walk. He led the Gators in every slash category, as well as hits and RBIs (8).
Surowiec went 6-for-12 with a .500/.571/.917 slash line. He finished the tournament with one home run, two doubles, four runs, four RBI and two walks.
Florida was one of four schools to have multiple players named to the All-Tournament Team. Georgia, the tournament champion, led the way with four players, while Arkansas and Auburn each had two players on the list.
The Gators return to action on Friday in NCAA Regional action against Rider at 1 p.m. ET.
