Haris Tabakovic to travel to World Cup with Bosnia despite injury setback

Bundesliga forward Haris Tabakovic has confirmed that he will travel to the World Cup with the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team despite suffering an injury in Borussia Mönchengladbach's 4-0 win over TSG Hoffenheim last weekend.

According to Sky Germany, the 31-year-old forward has suffered a metatarsal fracture, but he has since taken to Instagram to confirm that he will still be part of his country’s squad for the tournament.

“I would like to briefly address the many messages and rumours currently circulating: I am doing well and I thank everyone for the many enquiries and the concern. And yes – I will travel to the World Cup and continue to be part of the team,” Tabakovic said.

“How my rehabilitation progresses and when I will be fit to play will become clear in the coming days. But I will definitely be able to be there.”

Tabakovic scored 15 goals in 35 appearances during his loan spell at Gladbach in the 2025/26 campaign and will now return to his parent club, TSG Hoffenheim.
