No. 1 UCLA baseball took their second game of their series against Washington 6-5 at Husky Ballpark in Seattle, Wash. on Friday after being shutout by them in the series opener.
The Bruins batters stepped up to the plate with and more than doubled their hit total from their last game with seven hits, while crossing home plate for six-runs. The defensive unit also improved by limiting the Huskies explosive innings to just two double-run innings.

Huskies bark in the second
After a scoreless first for both teams, Washington scored the first runs of the game in the bottom of the second. Senior right-handed pitcher Michael Barnett's third hit allowed of the game was a triple that sent runners from first and second base across home plate to give them a 2-0 lead.
Continuing to fall behind
Washington remained in control of the game in the third with no base runners allowed and another two hits allowed by Barnett leading to the Huskies strolling to a 3-0 lead.
Bruins roar back
Two scoreless innings allowed UCLA to get back in the game with a two-run homer blasted 358 feet by freshman infielder Aiden Aguayo to left field in the top of the sixth that brought the Bruins right back into the game.
Huskies growl for stronger lead
The Bruins batters returned to struggling in the seventh, but Washington saw an opportunity to increase their lead with a two-run homer that was allowed by junior right-handed pitcher Justin Lee to give the Huskies a 5-2 lead heading into the eighth.
Bruins cut it down to one
UCLA had two fly outs to begin the eighth, but three consecutive walks set them up for a chance to score some runs. Senior outfielder Jarrod Hocking stepped up to bat and struck a single for the first hit of the inning that sent junior catcher Cashel Dugger and Aguayo home.
Comeback for the win
In the top of the ninth, Dugger batted a double that gave UCLA the lead with juniors infielder Phoenix Call and outfielder Will Gasparino running home for the win. In the bottom of the ninth, two Huskies were walked, but no hits were allowed and the Bruins defeated the Huskies.
UCLA will play their final game of the regular season against Washington on Saturday with an anticipated start time of 12:05 p.m. PT.
