World Trade Center Mumbai in association with All India Association of Industries organized a Business Mission on Industrial Solutions and Sustainable Development Technologies in collaboration with the Russian Export Center and the Trade Representation of the Russian Federation in India at World Trade Center Mumbai. The programme brought together Russian and Indian industry leaders, government officials, technology providers and business communities to explore opportunities for bilateral trade, technology partnerships and industrial collaboration.

Dr. Vijay Kalantri, Chairman, World Trade Center Mumbai and President, All India Association of Industries, said, “Russia has always been India’s trusted partner in trade, business and diplomacy. Bilateral trade between India and Russia has crossed USD 68.7 billion, reflecting the growing strength and strategic importance of economic cooperation between the two countries. There is immense potential to diversify beyond traditional trade and strengthen collaboration in sectors such as mining, steel, capital goods, manufacturing and technology in Maharashtra, India’s premier industrial state.”

Russia’s support during the recent energy crisis reflected the strength of this longstanding partnership. Both countries can work together to strengthen industrial partnerships, expand technology-led collaboration and achieve the shared target of USD 100 billion in bilateral trade by 2030,” said Dr. Kalantri
Mr. Andrey O. Sobolev, Trade Representative of the Russian Federation in India said, “For more than 70 years, the Trade Representation of the Russian Federation in India has supported the development of industrial and technological collaboration. Russia and India are entering a new stage of economic partnership focused on sustainable development solutions and resilient supply chains. Significant opportunities exist in advancing partnerships in manufacturing, energy, chemicals, pharmaceuticals and IT.”
Mr. Mamed Akhmedov, Head of Representative Office of the Russian Export Center in India, said, “We promote ‘Made in Russia’ brands both in Russia and across global markets. Russian companies meet the highest standards of innovation, quality and reliability. Since 2018, our Mumbai office has been actively fostering bilateral trade and has successfully implemented hundreds of projects between Russian and Indian businesses. In 2025 alone, over 1,200 Russian companies utilized our support for engagement with India, leading to signed contracts worth nearly USD 1.4 billion.”
The programme featured dedicated presentations by leading Russian companies showcasing advanced industrial solutions and sustainable development technologies across a wide spectrum of sectors. The session was followed by extensive B2B interactions, enabling Indian and Russian businesses to explore new opportunities for trade partnerships, investments, technology transfer and long-term industrial collaboration across strategically important sectors.
