WILLIE LE ROUX THANKS SCHOOL THAT GAVE HIM A CHANCE
On Tuesday, 12 May, Willie Le Roux was honoured by his alma mater, Paul Roos Gymnasium, for his sporting achievements.
During the honorary event, the Springbok, who has over 100 test caps, reflected on receiving a sports scholarship to a rugby-oriented school, which has vowed to continue its programme for deserving individuals.
Willie shared: “I will forever be grateful to @paulroos_gym for taking a chance on me so early in my rugby career 🙏🏻
The 36-year-old revealed that he wanted to “pay it forward” so other children could have the same opportunities.
He added: “I want to use my platform to inspire youngsters to never take no as the final answer, another door will open, you just need to push through. These scholarships create that same ‘one chance’ for someone else who just needs a breakthrough”.
