Griffin Meeker, Tremont baseball

The senior swung a hot bat last week. Meeker was a single shy of the cycle as Tremont beat Illini Bluffs, 8-1 on Saturday, May 9. He doubled in the third, hit a two-run home run in the fifth and drove home a pair on a triple in the sixth. Meeker finished the day 3-for-4 with four RBIs and three runs. He also came in to pick up the save, facing six batters and striking out five on 20 pitches. Tremont (24-2) is riding an 11-game win streak.

Cannon Foster, Washington baseball

The senior put together a masterful pitching performance last week. Foster tossed a no-hitter in a 10-0 nonconference win over Bloomington on Saturday, May 9. He struck out 15 and walked one, facing just one over the minimum in the seven-inning contest. Foster threw 100 pitches — 70 of which were strikes for the Panthers (20-9).

Aiden Duhs, Illinois Valley Central track & field

The senior was a four-event winner last week. Duhs posted a pair of victories at the Illini Prairie Conference Meet on Tuesday, May 5. He captured the 800-meter run in 1 minute, 57.94 seconds. Patrick Peterson, Dunlap track & field

The sophomore swept the throws last week. Peterson continued his dominance in the shot put and discus at the Bloomington Raider Relays on Thursday, May 7. His throw of 58 feet, 7.25 inches in the shot gave Peterson his 10th victory in the event this season. Peterson also claimed the discus with a toss of 173-1 for his ninth win this season. He holds the top distances in both events in the latest Peoria-area honor roll.

Hunter Poole, Metamora tennis

The sophomore went undefeated last week, going a combined 8-0 in singles and doubles matches. Poole capped his week on Saturday, May 9 at Metamora's Tom Pitchford Invite by going 2-0 in singles matches. He played as the No. 2 singles player, knocking off opponents from Troy Triad and Chatham Glenwood. On Friday, May 8, Poole won another singles match at the Pitchford Invite, while teaming with Matthew Poole for a No. 2 doubles victory in straight sets over Charles McKee and Ben Witten of Peoria Notre Dame.
