Quick action by Central Railway staff saves life at Kalyan station

Central Railway’s alert station staff successfully averted a potential tragedy at Kalyan station on Tuesday, ensuring the safety of an individual through prompt emergency protocols.

An individual was noticed atop the roof of a Badlapur-Dadar AC local at Kalyan station, platform no. 7. Railway authorities immediately alerted the concerned Officials and initiated switching off the Over Head Equipment (OHE) at 14:40 hrs to eliminate any risk of electrocution.

The dedicated team of station officials acted with remarkable coordination. Within minutes, the individual was safely brought down to the platform by 14:50 hrs, thanks to the rapid response and timely shutting off of the OHE power.

Following the successful rescue and a thorough safety check, the OHE was recharged at 14:52 hrs. The train continued its journey shortly after, with the entire life-saving operation concluding in just 12 minutes.

The individual identified as Malka Sidre aged 25 years was handed over to the Government Railway Police for further action.
