Interestingly, unless Friday sees a trio of handshake lines between the Boston Bruins and Buffalo Sabres, Tampa Bay Lightning and Montreal Canadiens, and Vegas Golden Knights and Utah Mammoth, then Round Two will open before Round One has reached a conclusion.

Availability of Injured Hurricanes Players Remains Unknown

Game 4 of Round One against the Ottawa Senators saw Alexander Nikishin leave the game due to what was later announced as a concussion, while Nikolaj Ehlers did not play the game at all due to a lower-body injury.

In the practices since they finished the first-round series, Ehlers has remained absent. However, Nikishin has recently returned to the ice, skating in yellow non-contact gear as he continues the NHL’s concussion protocol.

While it is unclear if they will play Saturday against the Flyers, Rod Brind’Amour has stated that he is hopeful that they will be able to play Game 1.
