Scott Parker has left Burnley by “mutual consent” following their relegation from the Premier League.

The Clarets were relegated with four games of the season remaining and Parker has left the club ahead of Friday’s away game against Leeds United.
Parker led Burnley to a record-breaking season in the Championship last campaign, where they achieved promotion on the back of a 33-match unbeaten run.
But the 45-year-old will play no part in Burnley’s latest season in the second tier after a third relegation in five seasons was confirmed following defeat to Manchester City last week.
They have won just four Premier League games this season, drawing eight and losing 22. But since the start of November, Burnley have managed just one win in 25 games in the top-flight.
“The club would like to place on record its sincere thanks to Scott for his professionalism, dedication and contribution,” a Burnley statement said. “He leaves with the respect and gratitude of everyone connected with Burnley Football Club.
“Mike Jackson, supported by the existing backroom staff, will take interim charge for the Clarets' remaining four Premier League fixtures, beginning with Friday's match away to Leeds United.
“The process of appointing a new permanent head coach ahead of the 2026/27 season has begun.”
At the time of Parker’s departure, Burnley sit 19th in the table, have not won a league match since February and not won at Turf Moor for six months, while their 13-game winless run at home is the second-worst in their history in the division.
Steven Gerrard has been linked with a move to Burnley and The Independent reported last week that the Liverpool great is open to a position in the Championship. Gerrard has been out of work since leaving Al-Ettifaq in the Saudi Pro League in 2025.
Meanwhile, Crystal Palace have Coventry City’s Frank Lampard and Ipswich Town’s Kieran McKenna on a list of at least six managers to replace Oliver Glasner, having already started making overtures to candidates.
