Three people, including an infant, were hospitalized after police responded to reports of a pedestrian being stuck by a vehicle Sunday evening in North York.

Police later said that a woman in her 30s, a man in his 20s and an infant had been transported to a hospital with unknown injuries.
They did not specify if the people who were injured were pedestrians, occupants of a vehicle or both. They also said the vehicle remained at the scene.
Paramedics, however, told CP24 that the infant suffered serious and possibly life-threatening injuries. They said the woman’s injuries were also life-threatening, while the man was in serious, non-life-threatening condition.
A fourth person was also treated at the scene with minor injuries, medics told CP24 , adding that they had responded to reports of “multiple” pedestrians being struck.
Caledonia is closed in both directions near the scene due to the investigation as police asked people to avoid the area and consider alternate routes.

York Regional Police responded to reports of a collision Sunday at 12:35 a.m. at the intersection of Doane Rd. and Leslie St., west of Hwy. 404, in the community north of Newmarket.

Police later said the vehicle involved had five occupants inside and that one person was pronounced dead, while the four others were hospitalized — three with life-threatening injuries and another with serious but non-life-threatening wounds.
The major collision investigation unit was probing the incident.
Leslie was closed from Jeffery Cres. to Seaview Heights for several hours as officers investigated before reopening at about lunchtime.
