Anderson star LB Antwoine Higgins announces college commitment

Anderson's all-state linebacker/edge has made his college choice.

Antwoine Higgins, one of Ohio's top football prospects, announced his verbal commitment to the University of Kentucky Wildcats in a decision ceremony at Anderson High School on April 22.

A first-team Division II All-Ohio selection in 2025, Higgins is ranked as Ohio's No. 17 prospect in the class of 2027 by 247 Sports. Nationally, the recruiting site ranks him the No. 37 linebacker in the class. He recorded 67 tackles, three sacks, 8.5 tackles for loss, and two interceptions as the Raptors marched to the Division II state final for the second year in a row.

Higgins becomes the second member of Anderson's 2027 class to make a high-profile college football commitment. Cornerback Ace Alston committed to the University of Notre Dame on Dec. 9, 2025.

Kentucky is coming off a 5-7 season, leading the Wildcats to move on from former coach Mark Stoops. Will Stein, formerly the offensive coordinator at Oregon, is now at the helm in Lexington. While still early in the cycle, Stein has currently assembled the No. 8 recruiting class for 2027 per 247 Sports.
