Coby White eventually took over as LaMelo Ball's backcourt partner in the game. He was superb, hitting the crucial three-pointer that forced overtime. Despite Knueppel's problems, it seems no one on the Hornets is worried about his form.
Sion James has no worries about Kon Knueppel's struggles
When anyone watches the Hornets, one might wonder if Knueppel is not a rookie. Against the Heat, it was clear that he was having trouble, which was not something that happened often during his rookie year.
Sion James is a longtime teammate, not only with the Hornets but also at Duke. He has seen Knueppel deal with problems for the past two years, and he has no trouble saying that the Rookie of the Year favorite will bounce back.

Since he had a troubling performance against the Heat, it was evident that it was an outlier. For the most part, he has been excellent, as he averaged 42.5% from beyond the arc while being this season's most prolific shooter.
A bad game can happen once in a while, so James and his fellow Hornets teammates are supporting Knueppel because they know he will be back stronger than ever.
"I've got no worries about Kon. He's done what he's been doing, shooting the ball, and making winning plays. Just being a winner every single day. He does that in games when he's making shots or not," Sion James said to Nick Carboni about Kon's recent struggles.
"At this point, he's had a special season, he will continue to have a special season, and understand that this is part of it. He'll continue to grow."
Moving forward, Knueppel will do his best to keep playing at a high level. It will be challenging to do this against the Orlando Magic, but he will be prepared to contribute.
