Garcia later suggested that discussions were already advanced, even hinting the fight could take place in Las Vegas in August. That optimism created momentum around the potential matchup.

During his appearance on ESPN’s First Take, White made it clear he supports making fights fans want, such as the potential fight between Garcia and Benn.

Despite that, he stopped short of confirming any agreement, leaving the situation open rather than settled.

He said: “I agree with everything he [Benn] said. That’s why I’m in the business right now, is to make the fights that people want to see.”

Zuffa Boxing’s founder also used the opportunity to criticise rival promoters, adding: “This sport is way more broken than I even thought it was. I’ve already done more fights this year, my first year, than all the promoters combined.”

Conor Benn quickly commits future to Zuffa Boxing

Benn’s period as a free agent proved brief following his win last weekend.

He became available to negotiate with other promoters after Saturday’s fight, but moved quickly to secure his future, as many fans expected.

After previously agreeing a $15 million one-fight deal, the Briton has now signed a longer contract.

The new agreement with Zuffa Boxing is set to run for two and a half years, reinforcing White’s plans moving forward.
