JULIETTE BRYANT: TRAFFICKED AND RAPED BY JEFFREY EPSTEIN

In recent months, Cape Town woman Juliette Bryant has continued to shed light on her experience at the hands of convicted sexual offender Jeffrey Epstein.

The Cape Town woman revealed that she was trafficked to “Epstein Island” in 2002, under the guise of being promised international modelling opportunities.

She spent the next two years being forcibly sent to locations around the world. There, she was repeatedly raped by the man accused of grotesque sex crimes, particularly against minors.

Juliette first opened up about her experience in 2019 in a federal lawsuit filed against Epstein’s estate after his suicide. The businessman had been arrested in July and was awaiting trial when he took his own life. Juliete claims that despite last seeing him in 2004, he would continue to harass her for nude images via email correspondence. This continued until his arrest. She also claimed he attempted to commission her to solicit other girls.

Juliette Bryant first met Epstein when she was a 20-year-old model. She was invited to attend a casting and star-studded dinner in Cape Town that he had hosted. She claims former US President Bill Clinton was also in attendance, as was another high-ranking South African government official, whom she has not named. Epstein allegedly told her that he had contacts in the modelling industry, including one at Victoria’s Secret.

An excerpt of her legal document stated: “For those years [in which she was trafficked], Juliette felt like a prisoner and was afraid of betraying Epstein because of his money and power.

“She was afraid he would hurt her or her family. In fact, the very first time Epstein brought Juliette to the United States, in order to scare her, he told her that when another woman had accused him of rape, he planted drugs in the woman’s apartment and had her sent to prison.”

‘SHAME, PANIC ATTACKS AND NIGHT TERRORS’

Juliette Bryant has often spoken about how her experience with Jeffrey Epstein left her living with “a volatile mix of anger, shame, guilt and fear”

She told The Daily Maverick earlier this year that she has been left with lasting invisible scars.

She said, “I was carrying this shameful secret and pretending I was okay. For years, I suffered from panic attacks and eating disorders. I was punishing myself for being such an idiot. My time with Epstein killed my true self.”

Julietter added that she had become reclusive and deeply distrustful. She also lives with the fear of publicly speaking out about her experience.

“Many people associated with Epstein have died under suspicious circumstances,” she said.
