ZIFA said the player has since apologised to both the team and the association and has accepted the punishment handed down.
“The Zimbabwe Football Association confirms that Warriors defender Teenage Hadebe has been found in breach of the team’s camp code of conduct,” the statement read.
ZIFA emphasises professionalism after Hadebe’s incident
Despite the incident, the association reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining discipline and professionalism within the national team setup.
“The Association and the technical team remain committed to upholding the highest standards of professionalism, discipline and accountability within the national team,” ZIFA added.
Soccer24 reports that Hadebe has been suspended after a video surfaced showing him with a bottle of alcohol while in camp in Botswana.
The suspension comes at a crucial time for the Zimbabwe national football team, who are preparing for the tournament final without one of their key defenders.
Focus shifts to Mukuru 4 Nations Tournament final
