The hunt is on for a vehicle and driver after a pedestrian was critically injured in Mississauga on Thursday morning.

Peel Regional Police say two vehicles were involved in a collision at Derry Rd. and Hurontario St. around 6 a.m. and a female pedestrian was struck.
One of the vehicles — described as a white sedan with heavy damage to right front corner — fled.
The female — whose age was not released — was taken to a local trauma centre with serious injuries.
One lane southbound on Hurontario was closed for the investigation, police said.

GUNSHOTS LEAD TO PURSUIT AND CRASH
Toronto Police are searching for a shooter after gunshots early Thursday in south Etobicoke were followed by a police pursuit and crash.
The incident started around 3:30 a.m. in the Islington Ave. and Lakeshore Blvd. area. Evidence of gunfire was located near a commercial premise.
Officers attempted to stop a vehicle fleeing the scene and the vehicle ended up hitting a fence near Eglinton Ave. W. and Royal York. The “suspect(s) fled on foot.”
TEENS CHARGED WITH STOLEN VEHICLE
Five boys face charges in Hamilton after a speeding SUV with an upside-down licence plate was spotted and stopped on Tuesday.
Hamilton Police say officers in their High Enforcement Action Team (HEAT) “observed a black Acura SUV travelling at a dangerous rate of speed” in King St. and Sherman Ave. area. The rear licence plate was displayed upside down.
Officers “coordinated a safe and timely approach to contain the vehicle,” however police say the occupants tried to run away but were caught and arrested without incident.
The vehicle had been reported stolen and a search led to “the seizure of multiple licence plates and drug paraphernalia.”
The five youths — whose ages were not released — are charged with possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, occupant of motor vehicle without consent, and possession of a prohibited weapon.
