Tiger Woods finally returned to professional golf for the first time since 2024. On Tuesday night, Woods’ team, the Jupiter Links Golf Club, lost to Los Angeles Golf Club in the 2026 TGL championship. It was the 50-year-old’s first professional appearance since the 2024 Open Championship.

Over the last two years, Woods has dealt with a ruptured Achilles tendon and underwent lumbar disc replacement surgery in October 2025. However, does this mean that Woods could return to the Masters for the first time since 2024? It is not a guarantee.

“This body … it doesn’t recover like it did when it was 24, 25,” Woods said after the TGL Championship. “It doesn’t mean I’m not trying. I’ve had a couple bad injuries here over the past years that I’ve had to fight through and it’s taken some time. But I keep trying…I want to play [in the Masters]. I love the tournament. I’m going to be there either way with The Loop that’s going up there, as well as the Champions Dinner. … We’ll see how it goes. I’ll be practicing, playing at home this week and keep trying to make progress.”

Woods didn’t give a timeline on when a decision will be made. The five-time Masters winner has to decide on whether he will participate in the tournament soon. The Masters is set to begin in almost two weeks on April 9, so Woods will have to see how his body responds now.

In 2024, Woods made it to the weekend, setting a new tournament record with 24 consecutive made cuts at Augusta National. The 50-year-old is a golf legend, but coming back to play in the Masters would be significant after all of his injuries.
