Saints bring back safety Terrell Burgess

The New Orleans Saints have slowed their free agent moves recently, but that does not mean they have stopped working. Many of the top free agents may wait until after the NFL Draft to sign with teams, while others are still trying to find a new home or even return to their previous team.

New Orleans has already brought back a couple of players and continues to re-sign safety Terell Burgess.

With all the safeties on the roster, this may look like a redundant move by the Saints, but it makes sense. Burgess was a decent depth piece for the team last season, and his real impact was felt on special teams.

For a team that needs to keep upgrading the special teams defense, bringing back some security there was smart, and if injuries start to pile up in the safety room, Burgess could step up.
