All five Big Ten teams survived Saturday—Sunday could have more chalk, and if it holds, only one B1G team will survive today.
We had our best friends over yesterday, up from wisconsin, with their two boys in tow. Basically spent the whole day running around after the kids, though with drinks in hand—Cutwater margaritas and peach Whiteclaws for the gals, Surly Mosh Pit hazies and Grain Belts for the guys, though he managed to grab both a Cutwater and one of the olllllld Surly THC beverages in my basement fridge. Kids at one point made a mud pit in my backyard and brought about every toy out of our storage spots, but—to their credit—managed to have no overlapping tantrums. A lot of credit to go around, and I even started getting a little base tan back, which is awesome, but we were wiped.

So imagine my shock when, as it’s 8:45pm and I’m ensconced on the couch to watch the night games, I hear my wife come out of the bedroom and hear the start of a retch from the bathroom.
My first thought: “Oh Christ, are we pregnant again?”
…it would’ve been an immense surprise (and I would’ve had questions for the mailman), but good to know where I’m at in the “Should we have a second?” debate.

Steph Blurry and the Billikens were keeping pace with the Wolverines at half, and then Michigan just threw on the fuckin’ afterburners. It’s really unfair and they ought to be sanctioned by the federal government.

Beating the Aggies, man. That’s the kind of shit that my old assistant dean would talk about. He fuckin’ hated the Aggies, and I reveled in his hatred for A&M as we were drinking at a tailgate for UH and, like, Memphis or something.

I mean, the Longhorns HAVE eliminated the two most annoying non-Grand Canyon private university basketball programs from the Interior West, so we do owe them a debt of gratitude for that.

After giving away a lead in the face of some good Vanderbilt shooting, the Huskers electrified the local crowd as part of a phenomenal comeback late. The last two minutes of this game were completely electric, and it’s hard not to feel good for Nebraska and its fans.
It was a shame to see all the Huskers football jerseys in attendance, but I’m happy those folks finally get to pretend they’ve always cared for a winner.
