Most Valuable Promotions and Netflix are on the verge of making a splash in MMA with their debut event headlined by Ronda Rousey and Gina Carano returning to the cage after years away, and the promotion's "MVP Uncut" series is here to document what's happening behind the scenes in the buildup.
Rousey vs. Carano takes place May 16 at Intuit Dome in Inglewood, Calif., and streams live on Netflix, giving fans what was once considered a dream matchup between two pioneers of women's MMA.
Rousey, 39, will compete in the cage for the first time since December 30, 2016 when she was stopped by Amanda Nunes just 48 seconds into their UFC women's bantamweight title fight. For Carano, 43, the layoff from MMA has been even longer as she hasn't fought since her historic Strikeforce title bout with Cris Cyborg on August 15, 2009, which Carano lost by first-round TKO.
In the co-main event, former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou returns to MMA to fight former PFL season champ Philipe Lins. It'll mark Ngannou's first cagefight since October 19, 2024, when he defeated Renan Fereira by first-round TKO.
On this latest episode of "MVP Uncut," go behind the scenes as the headliners meet Jake Paul for the first time, experience their first press conference together, and run through promotional video and photo obligations, all while speaking about their mindsets heading into the event.
