The Athletic’s Michael-Shawn Dugar reported on Saturday that Noah Igbinoghene, a former first-round pick of the Miami Dolphins, has agreed to a one-year contract with Seattle.

Igbinoghene was just 20 years old when he made his NFL debut with the Dolphins in 2020. The former Auburn star was unable to hold a regular spot in Miami’s starting lineup before he was traded to the Dallas Cowboys in 2023. He scored a blocked field goal return touchdown in his Cowboys debut against the New York Giants, but otherwise had just 25 defensive snaps.

As a free agent, Igbinoghene signed with the Commanders, where he did have 10 starts in 2024 and a career-high 818 snaps (with seven passes defensed). He was a starting nickel corner due to Emmanuel Forbes’ injury, and he did not relinquish the job for the remainder of the season. His playing time was drastically reduced in 2025, with only two starts all season. Igbinoghene’s only career interception was a game-winner when he was with the Dolphins in 2022.

Igbinoghene is the fifth corner on the Seahawks roster, joining the recently re-signed Shemar Jean-Charles, Josh Jobe, Devon Witherspoon, and Nehemiah Pritchett. Realistically, Igbinoghene is going to be competing for a roster spot as Seattle shapes up its cornerback depth.
