Following the solo shot from Torres, Jaysoni Beachum got on via a walk, and stole second base. Now in scoring position, a ground out moved her to third base. Sixty feet away from another run, Kennedy Harp had a ground out RBI to put the Seminoles up 2-0.

2nd Inning

Shelby McKenzie led off the bottom of the inning with a walk from Knight. Back to back singles for the ‘Noles had every base occupied. A sacrifice fly from Hayley Griggs extended the lead to 3-0.

With the top of the lineup back up, Syracuse walked Torres. Back with bases loaded, Knight walked another batter, as well as got a sacrifice fly to make it 5-0. Harp stepped in for the second time in as many innings, and reached on an error, allowing two more runs to score.

3rd Inning

Danley continued to cruse through the Syracuse lineup, only allowing a single in the top of the inning. With the offense, Shelby McKenzie led off against new pitcher, Rose Cano. In a 2-2 count, McKenzie made it an 8-0 game on her solo homerun.

4th Inning

After a scoreless half inning for Syracuse, Harp and Angelee Bueno reached base with one out. McKenzie continued to stay hot, with a double off of Cano. Marin Heller followed up with a double of her own, brining in two more runs.

Now down 11-0, Syracuse went to the bullpen for Sydney Jackson. Jackson got a ground out, and moved Heller to third. A single off the bat off Griggs extended the lead for a twelfth run. Soon FSU found the bases loaded after a walk and hit by pitch. With nowhere to put pinch hitter Madi Frey, a walk put her on base and gave the ‘Noles another run.

5th Inning

Looking to close out a run rule, Makenna Reid entered in the 5th inning, concluding Danley’s day. Reid got the first two outs via a swinging strikeout. Facing her third batter of the inning, a solo homerun erased the shutout, making it 13-1. The defense quickly got the final out on a ground out, and claimed the win.
