The Alex are seventh in the table after their spirited comeback win against Tranmere last Saturday.
Trailing 1-0 at half-time, Crewe fought back to clinch an important victory through Conor Thomas and an injury-time winner from Josh March.
It was the Alex's fourth win in their past five league games and Demetriou, who called the result "massive", says the way they fought back against Rovers highlighted their growing belief.
"Probably the biggest thing is confidence," the 35-year-old told BBC Radio Stoke.
"If we come off the pitch, probably with only a point, we may have been disappointed.
"I think especially how tight it is, where we are in the league, every point matters. So, thankfully, we took three just to keep us in there for an extra week.
"The mentality that we've shown throughout the season so far has been really good. We just need to be in there, in and around it, and use the confidence from the last few matches to try to pick up as many points as we can in the last 11 games."

As Crewe prepare for Saturday's trip to Bristol Rovers, Demetriou said he felt "lucky" to have clocked up the 700th game of his career last weekend.
"It's obviously a nice milestone to hit," he said, having made his debut for non-league Worthing as a 17-year-old.
"I'm enjoying it still and I feel like I've still got a few more to add to that tally.
"I'm lucky to be doing what I'm doing. It's not come through luck, it's come through hard work and I'll continue to do that to try to stay on the pitch for as many more games as possible.
"No one ever knows how many that will be. I'll just keep doing my bits that I need to do to keep me as fit as possible."
Demetriou says managing his gym work, training and match minutes help to keep him in optimal shape.
"Obviously, I want to be playing every game I can, but sometimes I need to take a little step back if it means miss one to play the next three or four and not risk an injury coming," he added.
