Michigan State football is reportedly trending for a big-time prospect in the 2027 class, who also has family ties to the Spartans.

On3 recruiting insider Steve Wiltfong has reportedly entered a prediction in favor of Michigan State to land four-star cornerback Gideon Gash of Detroit Catholic Central in Novi, Mich. Gideon Gash is the younger brother of current and future Spartans Caleb and Samson Gash.

Wiltfong's prediction for the Spartans to land Gash holds a confidence level of 60.

Gash ranks as the No. 34 cornerback and No. 7 player from Michigan in the 247Sports' composite rankings for the 2027 class. He is also listed as the No. 304 overall prospect in the class.

Michigan State is one of more than 20 schools to extend an offer to Gash, according to 247Sports. He also holds notable offers from Alabama, Boston College, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Louisville, Michigan, Missouri, Oklahoma, Penn State, Pittsburgh, Texas Tech, Wake Forest, West Virginia and Wisconsin.

Michigan State got some great news earlier this week when Samson Gash -- a four-star wide receiver in the 2026 class -- remained committed and signed to the Spartans. Now, it sounds like Michigan State is in good position to add his talented younger brother as well. We will have to continue to monitor his recruitment, but this is a positive sign for the Spartans moving forward.
